The Town Council held a competition for all junior school children to design a birthday card for HM the Queen.
Over 300 entries were collected and it was down to the Mayor of Featherstone and Deputy Mayor to choose a winner. The Council are delighted to announce that the winning design came from Jaycee McPhail from St Thomas’ Junior School. On Friday 10th June the Deputy Lieutenant of West Yorkshire Major Stan Hardy accepted the card on behalf of the Queen. The card was then sent by special delivery to Buckingham Palace.
